Welcome to 4th & 5th Math & Social Studies! I am very happy to be teaching at East Side School and to be teaching my two favorite subjects, math and social studies. This community is home to me. As a child, I lived in the East Side Community and attended East Side School. I also attended Cannon County High School. After my graduation from high school in 1994, I attended Motlow State Community College. I finished my Bachelor of Science Degree at Middle Tennessee State University where I graduated in December 2000. I began my teaching career at Woodland School where I taught fifth grade for 4 ½ years. I left Woodland School in 2005, and I spent the next 7 years teaching fourth grade at Short Mountain School. This is my first year to teach at East Side School. I am very excited to teach with my sister-in-law, Greta. Since April 2012, I have been a Common Core Mathematics Coach for the Tennessee State Department of Education. During the past summer, I trained teachers on the Common Core Math Standards. I live with my wife, Amy, and two daughters, Lauren & Laila, in the Short Mountain/East Side Community. Amy is a teacher here at East Side as Well. She teaches 6th, 7th, & 8th grades science. I enjoy spending time with my family and teaching.
